The Black Church Food Security Network is now accepting applications for the volunteer role of Board Chair. This position is ideal for a seasoned leader who is deeply rooted in faith, has strong personal or professional ties to African American Christian congregations, and is passionate about advancing food sovereignty and Black food justice. This is a unique opportunity to help shape the future of our organization by working closely with the Executive Director and other stakeholders to build BCFSN’s first national board of directors.
We are looking for someone with:

A deep grounding in faith and spirituality

A strong connection to Black churches and congregational life

Demonstrated leadership experience, especially with nonprofit boards

A proven track record in fundraising and donor engagement
The Board Chair will guide the strategic direction of the board, support the Executive Director, and play a pivotal role in expanding our network’s reach and impact. The time commitment for this volunteer role is approximately 12 to 15 hours per month.
