For Earth Day 2022, Saunders Memorial AME Church in Detroit began a children’s garden. This garden is being spearheaded by one of the church’s young people who is a 4th generation member, 11-year-old Kaylee Shreeve. Kaylee is an active Girl Scout and is working towards her Junior Gardener badge with completion of this project. Kaylee has chosen the location of the garden and is currently researching several flowers and herbs before making a final decision on what to plant.
