For the past 9 months, we’ve been building relationships and organizing for food justice in Buffalo, New York.  At the invitation of local leaders, we returned in late May 2023 for a series of information and recruitment sessions with local clergy and church members.  We are excited about what is germinating in this community that has not only been hampered by food apartheid, but also by racial terrorism in the form of a massacre at the Tops Grocery Store in May 2022.

Nearly 10 more Black churches signed up to join the Black Church Food Security Network during our most recent trip and we look forward to deepening our organizing in the coming months!
