The Black Church Food Security Network (BCFSN) utilizes an asset- based approach in organizing and Linking the vast resources of historically African american congregations in rural and urban communities to give us greater control over our food environment.
We believe the starting point for solving food-related problems in our communities begin with examining what God has already blessed our churches with—land, kitchens, classrooms, vans, parking lots, houses, and most importantly, people!
As a member of BCFSN, our team becomes an extension of your church staff and helps you to organize the resources you already have to be a part of the solution to the food and health challenges in your community.
We invest seed money into the agriculture-related vision of your church and assist with training, volunteer recruitment, congregational mobilization, fundraising, and more so that provision props up the vision in a sustainable way.
