The Bethlehem Temple Missionary Baptist Church in Harvey, Illinois has long been recognized as one of the most community-oriented ministries in their community. Under the leadership of Pastor Jeffrey Smith and First Lady, Heather Gayle Smith, the church has grown and prospered! This year, they’ve added another Christ-like component to their ministry. On June 7, 2022, they broke ground to establish a garden at their church. Recognizing how food apartheid has ravaged their community, Pastor Smith, Bro. Ernest Coverson and other members of their congregation have begun working together to use their church ground for the greater good of providing food access and agency in their neighborhood. Though they have just begun, we pray that the Lord of the Harvest, would bless and multiple their efforts to the glory of God!
