Earlier this year, our brothers and sisters at Love Missionary Baptist Church were in need of updates to their septic system. This church, which played a major role in the civil rights movement in Jacksonville, was at risk of closure.  This would have left a significant void in the community and the neighbors who depend on it. We called on the Network for donations in order to help this congregation fulfill their need.  They met their goal! Which means we have reason to celebrate and thank all the gracious donors who made the repairs possible!

We are excited to announce that because of the assistance from the Black Church Food Security Network & other donors, Love Missionary Baptist Church no longer has a failing septic system! They are now connected to the city’s sewage system. The congregation is looking forward to getting back growing food on their land and serving their community! The following photos are from the repair of the septic system.
